Don’t Call Me a Female

Something happened on twitter and it was extraordinary!

At 12:49pm on June 30th 2015 @Soulfulbrotha asked a very important question:

Black women what can a Black man do to make life easier and safer for all of you?
What followed was a fascinating, difficult and completely candid “conversation” between the sexes that was anything but a battle. In fact it was uplifting and wonderful to see. Relations between Black women and men are a rarity in the mainstream and are often also scarce in the marginalized areas of indie entertainment, media and films. Black love as its frequently referred to appears to be just as taboo a topic as anything that promotes and displays positivity in regards to the Black experience. I mean think about it, in the last 20 years how many Black love stories have made it into film, tv dramas or even a daytime soap opera? To witness this deep expression of “Black Love” was eye opening and one hundred percent necessary! Here are some of the best responses to@soulfulbrotha question:
